foolish pride

Matthew Henry’s Comentary brought me quite the ‘nugget’ this morning.
I was struck by the suicide of Ahithophel in verse 23 of 2 Samuel 17….was it as cut and dry as wounded pride? Could there be more….and it was a lot of pride and confusion.

23 When Ahithophel saw that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He put his house in order and then hanged himself. So he died and was buried in his father's tomb.

Henry said this;
That will break a proud man's heart which will not break a humble man's sleep.

Brandon talked a little bit about humilty this week…and I would challenge us all to bit a more humble.
GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. 1 peter 5:5 & james 4:6
