tons of woes

Matthew 23
And the "scorching" continues, 7 woes?.....when i was reading it...it felt more like 30 woes. I bet if I was a Pharisee it would have felt like even more woes, more personal. And you know, as a Pharisee, you are very prideful and there is this "prophet" exposing all your sins and secrets to the same people who have followed you, and given you your platforms.

Genesis 32
I was struck by the figurative and literal struggle with God.
The first part of the chapter, Jacob, gets a word from the Lord, to go back to his home and he will be prosperous. Then the word that Esau is coming with hundreds of men. This in Jacobs mind is a conflict. Esau can only mean to harm him, and therefore God must be wrong....so he positions himself to protect his people & possessions.
Then the second part of the chapter is a literal struggle with God. Jacob wrestled with God and God injured his hip as a reminder.
